Marisa De Brito has a background in the circular economy and urban management. Having worked in Portugal, she worked in several universities and research institutes in the Netherlands, Cambridge University (UK), and has spent time in INSEAD Business School (France).

She is currently the Research Collaboration Officer for the KreativEU Alliance, on behalf of Breda University of Applied Sciences. Previously she has been a member of the Management Team of the Academy of Leisure at BUas, managing internationalisation, different educational programs and research/ knowledge development.

She currently teaches/coaches/delivers training, publishes and carries out research projects on topics related with Eco-Heritage and Memory Studies, Inclusive Placemaking, Leisure and Communities. Currently she is involved with several European research projects, close to these topics.

She is an active member of the international Association for Tourism and Leisure Education (ATLAS) and of the Dutch Centre of Expertise on Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality (CELTH) in the Netherlands. She's also a certified “A Greener Future” (AGF) international assessor.
