Abstract
This chapter looks at other individuals who might have had an influence on tourism development in their own right, or had an effect on the tourism decisions of others. The author includes an eclectic bunch of individuals, including the inventor of the bikini, the creator of somewhat lewd but always amusing postcards, fashion and musical icons, and other more personal choices. If there is a single message coming out of this chapter, it is that there are innumerable individuals who have contributed to the face of tourism as we see it today.
