    In 2012, Tomas Mainil (1977) obtained his PhD on Transnational health care and medical tourism at the University of Antwerp, Belgium.

    He co-organized the cross-border symposium on transnational health care in 2013, together with Wageningen University, the Netherlands and Leeds University, UK.
    He also co-edited the Palgrave Macmillan edited book on ‘transnational health care and medical tourism’ and a special issue section on this field in Social Science & Medicine.
