Research interests

Rob van Ginneken combines an academic background in Business Administration (universities of Groningen (NL), Leuven (B) and Paris, France (Panthéon-Sorbonne) with a research and teaching interest in ownership, operating and branding configurations in the international hotel industry. He is currently a senior lecturer in Hospitality Finance and Accounting at Breda University of Applied Sciences.

His main teaching and research interest is the separation of hotel ownership and operation and the relationship created between hotel owners, operators, and brands, especially in the context of management agreements. He has published original research and teaching cases in peer-reviewed hospitality and tourism journals, contributed chapters to edited books, and (co-) authored conference papers.

Other parts of his bio include an ESSEC Advanced Certificate in Hospitality Real Estate & Finance, the STR Certified Hotel Industry Analytics certification, and the WSET® Diploma in Wine and Spirits. Rob is also a Certified Educator for WSET® certifications level 1, 2 and 3.
