    Research interests

    Pieter Piket studied International Managerial Economics at Tilburg University (Netherlands, 1978 -1985). He conducted his Ph.D. research at CentER, the business & economics research institute of Tilburg University (1987-1992). His Ph.D. thesis was about the commercial policy of the European Union with regard to the Central and Eastern European Countries. Since 1997 he has been working as senior lecturer and research fellow at the International Tourism Department of BUas. In addition, he has been since 2013 Visiting Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management at Bethlehem University, Palestine.

    His main areas of lecturing and research interest are: tourism development investments and financing, tourism economics, economic aspects of sustainability, international economics, and international organizations, in particular the European Union.
