Personal profile
Research interests
Dr. Pieter de Rooij (1968) has a focus on marketing, experience impact, and CRM. He finished his PhD at Tilburg University in 2013 (Customer loyalty to performing arts venues). He worked in the industry for many years as a marketeer, researcher and consultant. He strives to create a linkage between the academic and the practitioners’ world by research and executive education.
His expertise and his research interests are mainly in the field of arts and culture, and to a wider extent in the leisure and tourism industry. Currently, his research focus is on experience impact and impact-centricity of cultural organizations:
- How can we understand experience impact? What are the effects or consequences of visits to e.g. theatre performances or a museum in terms of memorability, meaningfulness and possibly transformation? How can cultural organizations improve experience design in order to enhance impact?
- How can cultural organizations become more impact-centered? What are the challenges hindering the organization from achieving greater impact, and how can they be addressed?
