Licia Calvi is Senior Lecturer and Researcher at the Academy for Digital Entertainment, under the Digital Media Concepts Professorship. She is also part-time affiliated with the Academy for Leisure, under the Professorship Storytelling. Her research is about museum experience design and the use of digital storytelling for cultural heritage. She has been experimenting with various technology (VR and AR, mixed media) and applied the notion of performance to inform the design of interactions in public and semi-public settings, like museums.Projects she has worked on include the van Gogh Brabant project and Van Gogh Oculus Rift project for the Van Gogh celebration in 2015, and the World War II heritage sites project. Currently, she is involved in the Traces project, funded by the Creative Europe Programme, on helping museums reach new audiences through storytelling and technology. Some of this work on museum experience design is collected in a curated book that she is co-editing for the Springer series in Cultural Computing that will be published in 2017
