Research interests

Eke Eijgelaar has been working for BUas’ Centre for Sustainability, Tourism and Transport (CSTT) as a researcher since 2008, before also taking up lecturer activities at BUas. Eke specializes in the environmental impacts of tourism, with a focus on GHG emissions. This takes him to many related topics, such as high and low carbon forms of tourism (notably cruise tourism and aviation), and mitigation strategies and tools such as carbon management and carbon calculators. With his research, Eke aims to help drive the transition towards a just tourism mobility system within planetary and societal boundaries.
