From data to impact: building data analytic capability as an enabler of organizational performance.

Activity: Talk or presentationGuest lectures/talks/presentations (not at a conference)

Description

Digital technologies provide many opportunities for organizations to improve their existing processes, the quality of their products and services, and more generally their performance from a triple bottom line perspective. Nevertheless, these efforts are often undertaken as projects within organizational silos, limiting the benefits and learning opportunities to the rest of the organization. Our research group focuses on the development of data analytic capability as an organization-wide capability to sense (changes in) the environment, evaluate and seize opportunities, and transform the organization using data and digital technologies. The development of data analytic capability is a complex socio-technical process requiring a multi-disciplinary perspective, involving people, technology and process aspects. Data analytic capability serves as an important enabler for important societal challenges, including sustainability and circularity. During this talk I will touch upon our research on the development of data analytic capability and how it affects organizational performance, sustainability and circularity.
